Harry Chapin song in Nissan car ad: Awkward!

Was Harry Chapin's Cat's in the Cradle the right song for this Nissan Super Bowl ad?

It's touching. And it fits the theme of the father/son bonding.

BUT, as the Twitterverse pointed out, it also was terribly wrong because Harry Chapin was tragically killed at the age of 38 in 1981 in a car accident.
