5 lingering questions about last night's 'The Flash'
Things got a little hot on The Flash Tuesday night, in every sense of the word. The show brought us some literal hit from Ronnie/Dr. Stein as Firestorm and some less literal heat from Barry and Linda. And while the show did answer some of our questions it raised a whole lot more. Here's what had us puzzling after watching "Nuclear Man."
5. Are we really supposed to believe that mirror trick worked?
OK, we get it, there's a certain suspension of disbelief in a show like this (it is about a man who has super speed), but come on with that mirror thing. Like seriously, Cisco was able to get pictures of the very moment Nora Allen was being attacked and then put them in 3D and then that led them to some undiscovered blood spatter? SERIOUSLY?! We want to give the show the benefit of the doubt, really we do, but this might have been one ridiculous scientific leap too far.
4. If it's not Wells' blood, whose is it?
The magic mirror trick gave Cisco two blood samples to work with and while one turned out to be from Barry (as an adult, confirming a big fan theory) the other is still unidentified. We're not totally convinced that Cisco actually ran it against Dr. Wells, but if it really doesn't belong to him, whose is it? Is there another speedster we don't know about?
3. Can we be done with Iris, please?
Ugh, Iris, you're the worst. We're sorry but it's true. We were so excited last week when Barry agreed to go out with Linda because we thought that meant putting all this Iris junk to bed, but apparently not. Seriously there has to be something better to do than to keep harping on Barry's old crush.
2. Did Ronnie and/or Dr. Stein survive the nuclear blast?
We have to say, we're surprised the show actually went ahead and blew the fused pair up. We thought for sure Dr. Wells' doo-dad (yay more unexplainable science!) would work in the clinch. Instead it failed and we were left watching Barry carrying Caitlin and running as fast as he can away from the fallout. But what about Ronnie/Dr. Stein? We'd say they were probably toast (insensitive pun intended), but we're not sure after the cameo in the show's tag. Speaking of which...
1. How did General Eiling know about FIRESTORM?
Welcome back to The Flash General Eiling! The character, who we first met in the show's fifth episode going after the meta-human who turned things she touched into bombs, showed up in the episode's tag. One of his underlings told him about the nuclear blast and Eiling responds "Let's go get FIRESTORM." The man is into explosive meta-humans, that's for sure, but how did he know about Firestorm? Does he know Dr. Stein and Ronnie are fused? What does he want him for?
