Kanye pulled a Kanye (again!) at the 'SNL' 40th Anniversary
He's at it again. After Kanye West almost pulled a Kanye at last Sunday's Grammy Awards by jumping up to interrupt Beck's acceptance speech (like he did to Taylor Swift way back when at the VMAs), he referenced his own self-reference at the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special.
As Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Carson Daily and Al Roker were wrapping up the red carpet before the show, Kanye jumped in and grabbed the mic. It was all in good fun though, as the Today Show gang was definitely in on the joke.
Later in the show Kanye returned as a musical guest (with special guest Sia and her wig) in a very unique performance. He literally sang on the flat of his back. And Twitter kind of couldn't handle it.
And then -- because apparently this was his anniversary special, obviously -- Kanye was the subject of most of the Wayne's World sketch. First they joked that he was going to come up on stage and showed him fighting security in the audience. Then they trolled him, and trolled him hard, by straight up saying Beck was better than Beyonce. And then they showed him fighting security again.
OK that was funny and all but can we be like officially be done with the "Imma let you finish" jokes? Because really, enough is enough.
