We want 'Candy' — you know, Scarlett Johansson's new single
Scarlett Johansson's back on the music scene with a fizzy electropop confection called Candy. It's the first single from her new group, The Singles, which consists of the actress, Julia Haltigan, Kendra Morris and the Jealous Girlfriends' Holly Miranda. Haim sister Este Haim sits in on drums for the single, produced by TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek.
"The idea was to write super-pop dance music written and performed by girls," Johannson told Rolling Stone, which premiered the track. "I wanted it to be like those bands: ultra-pop but also a little ironic, a little in on the joke."

Sitek previously worked with Johannson on a collection of Tom Waits covers called Anywhere I Lay My Head, which came out in 2008. The following year, Johansson released Break Up, a collaboration with Pete Yorn.
We think Candy just might be the best record from a member of The Avengers since 1976's Spider-Man: Rock Reflections of a Superhero. What about you?
