Melissa Rivers: Oscar tribute to Joan 'would have been nice'

Many of you were wondering why the Academy chose not to include Joan Rivers in their 'In Memoriam' section of this year's Oscars broadcast. For their part, the Academy said Rivers was "among the many worthy artists and filmmakers" who did not fit into the segment.

Now, her daughter Melissa Rivers has weighed in on Facebook.
"It would have been nice, especially considering the impact she had on the awards season, but Cooper and I have been overwhelmed with support and love over my mom's passing and we choose to focus on that."
In under an hour, Melissa's post had garnered almost 1,000 comments and almost 9,000 likes. One imagines Joan smiling at all the love.
