Was 'Boyhood' robbed? 'Birdman' wins draw mixed reactions
So ... that happened!
After skating through much of awards season as Oscar frontrunner, only to lose momentum in recent weeks, Boyhood missed out on best picture and director (Richard Linklater) in favor of Alejandro González Iñárritu's Birdman.
Boyhood's near-shutout Sunday night (save for supporting actress Patricia Arquette) has drawn mixed reactions from film fans — many of whom liked it, but are glad Birdman took top honors:

But even if you hated Birdman, you have to admit — it's not the worst best picture winner ever:
