So is Dylan O'Brien playing the new Spider-Man or what?

Ever since Marvel announced that Spider-Man would be joining Iron Man and Captain America in their cinematic universe, there has been rampant speculation about who would would be behind the web slinger's mask. Will Andrew Garfield still play Peter Parker? Will Peter Parker even be the man behind the mask or will they go for someone more diverse?

One name that has popped up on various occasions is Maze Runner and Teen Wolf star Dylan O'Brien, who -- between his age and his action chops -- seems like a pretty good fit for the part. But according to O'Brien, it doesn't look like he'll be suiting up any time soon. He told BuzzFeed:
“Professionally, I haven’t heard anything about it. I’ve only heard from, like, (rumors) online. ... It makes me feel bad because I’m, like, disappointing a big chunk of fans across the nation. You can tell them that it’s not true.”
But that isn't to say he wouldn't want to play Spidey if the opportunity presented itself:
“It’s nothing but flattering. It’s never something I would want to get myself excited about, since I know I haven’t heard about it from a professional standpoint. I’ve always wanted to play Peter Parker, obviously. I feel like any actor my age, that’s, like, a big thing.”
So with O'Brien probably out, who is the front-runner now? The same report that mentioned O'Brien also mentioned rumors that Logan Lerman of Percy Jackson and The Perks of Being a Wallflower was in the mix. And he does have O'Brien's endorsement going for him:
"My name being tossed with Logan Lerman’s is the coolest thing ever, too. I just think that kid is (expletive) fantastic.”
While we wait to find out who is going to play Spidey, we're just going to watch this hilarious video about the hero rebooting again for Marvel:
