Fifty Shades of Green: Should Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson get major raises?
Fifty Shades of Grey has lived up to the best-selling novel hype and has been a record-breaking beast at the box office (now at $550 million and counting worldwide).
Naturally, stars Jamie Dornan, who only plays a billionaire onscreen, and Dakota Johnson, as Anastasia Steele, are seeking a little something for their efforts when the inevitable sequels come around.
According to industry organ The Hollywood Reporter, the pair will renegotiate for seven-figure raises for the two planned follow ups -- Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.
Here's a fun THR fact, the two received $250,000 each (plus box-office bonuses) to star in the erotic hit based on E.L. James kinky novel, and both signed three-picture deals.
Dornan was reportedly waffling at one point, but he's back in line.
Producer Dana Brunetti doesn't sound like he's about to break into the vault after spending a thrifty $40 million on Fifty Shades. He told THR he wants to hold the line.
"That was the great thing about this film — we knew we were going to be able to make stars. Now it's their opportunity to get paid on other projects. It's been a breakout role for both of them. I'm sure they are getting tons of offers on other things."
