Michael Keaton's 'SNL' monologue gets hijacked by nerds
Saturday Night Live host Michael Keaton started his opening monologue the traditional way, talking about what has changed since the first time he hosted. Then, SNL's resident nerds Taran Killan and Bobby Moynihan crashed the speech with a song. The first chorus:
Will you play Batman with us, Michael Keaton? Come on, put on the suit, we'll be the villains that you've beaten. It's a real-life fantasy, we don't mean to be geeks.
Killam added, "But before you answer you should know this, it was my birthday this week." (It really was.)
They also asked him to play Beetlejuice. "It would mean so much to my parents, because I've only got six weeks to live... a guesstimate based on decisions I've made," sang Moynihan, who was almost as excited to see Keaton as he was to see Thor:
Finally, Keaton said, "I'm Batman," and "It's showtime," in the voices of his characters, but not before Killam and Moyniham get to do a bit of roleplaying:
