The stark truth about 'Thrones' Starks? No Snow job here
It ain't easy being a Stark.
The noble Game of Thrones clan has seen little but woe during the first four seasons of the hit HBO drama, which returns Sunday (9 p.m. ET/PT).
Patriarch Ned Stark was beheaded. Later his wife, Catelyn, and their son, Robb, and his bride were murdered at the Red Wedding. Robb's direwolf was killed, too. The man who killed Robb, Roose Bolton, is now lord of the family home, Winterfell, which, incidentally, was burned to the ground.
Imagine this poor family's annual holiday letter.
Kit Harington, who plays Ned Stark's bastard son, Jon Snow, thought about the family's state during a recent interview.
"A Stark family reunion would be heavily depleted. How many have we lost now? We’ve lost Ned, Catelyn, Robb. It’s me, Arya, Sansa and Bran. So, I guess I’d be like head of the family. I’d be the elder statesmen. I would love for any of those guys to meet up in the series."
Hey, it's not that bad. There's youngest Stark son, Rickon, too. Last we knew, he was still alive.
