Why did Louis C.K. fly the Twitter coop?

So why did Louis C.K. stop putting his thoughts into 140 characters or less? The comedian stopped by SiriusXM's Opie on Wednesday and chalked it up to a case of Tweeter's remorse.
Every time I say anything on here I wish I hadn't said it... Any time I tweeted anything I was like, 'Ugh I don't like the way that came out.' And then four and a half million people saw it! It was the worst things I ever said, heard and seen by the most people. It's the worst possible scenario.
For the Louie star, the speed at which that little blue bird can carry a message to the Twitterverse is simply too immediate.
It's too instant, I don't think the speed helps dialogue. I think it's why everything is kind of (expletive) up and polarized, because people are going too fast, they're trying to react too quickly.

And Louis C.K. knows a thing or two about posting without thinking. On Wednesday, he told Howard Stern about the apology he gave Sarah Palin for his Twitter rant from 2010 at the afterparty for the SNL 40th Anniversary Special.
I said, "Well, I owe you an apology. I've never in a million years apologized for anything I've said, and I don't apologize to, (expletive) anyone else who's offended. But here's the person right in front of me. And I'm not an insult guy. I don't go after people. It's not what I do.
Palin accepted his apology and even invited him to go fishing in Alaska. Oh, what we wouldn't give for that live-Tweet.
