Bruce Jenner: Kanye's wise words helped Kim accept transition
Bruce Jenner talked a lot during his two-hour interview with Diane Sawyer about how his family has accepted his decision to transition to a woman.
"The first one of the girls I ever told was Kimberly," he says, meaning his famous step-daughter Kim Kardashian West. She actually caught him in a dress "years ago." But she walked out and they never discussed it, he says. "It was this big secret we never talked about again."
Then, more recently, she brought it up. They chatted, but she didn't really want to talk about it.
Later, he says, "Kim told me a story. She goes, 'You know what really turned me around on thinking about this?' And I said, 'What?' She goes, 'Kanye.'"
Kanye told Kim: "Look it, I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful little daughter in the world. I have that. But I’m nothing, if I can’t be me. If I can’t be true to myself, they don't mean anything.”
Since then, he says, "Kimberly has been, by far, the most accepting."
