Jamie Foxx blames technical difficulties for that national anthem flub

Remember that time that Jamie Foxx sang the Star-Spangled Banner at the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight and it didn't go super well? Well the actor and singer is now weighing in on the performance, which he didn't think was nearly as bad as some fans did.

In an interview with Entertainment TonightFoxx explained that his earpiece fell out right before he was supposed to sing, but he kept going with the performance anyway, and he thought he "nailed it."
“We were like walking around like, 'Wow we nailed it everything was great.' ... "I…saw Denzel Washington (and) he was like, 'That was amazing.' Jim Gray was like, 'You nailed it, it was the best.'"
But then when he went back to listen to it again, he realized that it was a little "off."
"Then when we looked on the Internet or somebody told me about the Internet (and) they said, 'Oh people are really clowning you.' Then when I listened I said, 'Oh yeah, we're off.'"
He continued:
"In the stadium, you would have thought I was getting a standing ovation but the telecast it was different -- it was so off."
But, all things considered, he doesn't think it was that bad.  "I didn't think I committed a sin against America," he said, potentially reacting to the harshness of some of the online criticism.

But don't worry, you may hear Foxx give the song another try some day:
"I wanted that to be the best moment and, unfortunately, it didn't go 100 percent like we wanted but we'll get another crack at it."
