Tina Fey strips down to her Spanx to honor David Letterman

It's time to face facts, guys: David Letterman is retiring. And as we get closer and closer to his May 20th final episode, his guests have been giving him their own personal goodbyes. But no goodbye quite beats Tina Fey's (and, to be fair, most times in life nothing beats whatever Tina Fey has done). Fey stopped by the Late Show Thursday night wearing a very fancy dress (Letterman even compared it to something Duchess Kate would wear) and explained that it would be the last time she wore a fancy dress and "conformed to gender norms" on a late night show, because Dave is retiring. Is she going to dress up for Jimmy? Nope, she'll probably wear a slanket. Will she wear "special underwear" for James Corden? Heck no.

And so in tribute to Letterman's many years of comedy, Fey also gave him the very fancy dress, stripping down to her bra, Spanx and a leotard that said "Bye Dave!" on the front and "#LastDressEver" on the back, which we really hope is what she'll wear on all future talk shows, because she looked fierce as all hell.
