School? Psh! Snoop Dogg learns about history through 'Game of Thrones'

Snoop Dogg donned a British accent and an unexpected love for history in a recent interview with the New York Post, where the conversation naturally turned to his Game of Thrones Season 5 mixtape.

Perhaps to expand beyond his weed-smoking fan base, Snoop waxed poetic about his love for the HBO fantasy show and about how it's like, so real, man.

He told the Post:
"I watch it for historic reasons, to try to understand what this world was based on before I got here. I like to know how we got from there, to here, and the similarities between then and now."
Yeah, when we think about medieval history, we definitely think of dragons and undead zombie armies. Wasn't the War of the Roses about walking trees or something? (Although, to be fair, George R.R. Martin has said that the books are based on parts of history, so ...)

At least Snoop isn't alone in this line of thinking.
