Is Asa Butterfield replacing Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man?
Get used to this face — if the rumors are true, you'll be seeing it everywhere. British actor and Enders' Game star Asa Butterfield has allegedly emerged as the frontrunner to become Peter Parker in the next Spider-Man movie, coming summer 2017.
First, we'll be seeing Spidey in another Marvel film before then (that's rumored to be Captain America: Civil War) thanks to the recent deal that incorporates Peter Parker into the Marvel universe.
So...does this mean we're not getting a Donald Glover Spidey?

Butterfield is only 18 (and looks about 12), while his predecessors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were both well into their 20s when they donned the Spidey suit.
However, the next Spider-Man is also rumored to follow a teenage post-bite Peter Parker through high school, so Butterfield's younger age isn't a problem.

Paste BN actually sat down with Butterfield in 2013 to discuss Racing Blind, an iPad game he created with his dad. "If acting doesn't turn out to be the right job for me, then maybe an app designer," he told Paste BN. Yeah...Hollywood is treating you just fine, Asa.
Watch it below — he looks so young!
If Butterfield becomes Sony/Marvel's next Peter Parker, he won't just be building video games — he'll also be starring in them.
