Beyoncé had a VERY good reason for skipping the BBMAs — promise!

Maybe she's sick of award shows. Maybe she knew she'd lose both her nominations (to Pharrell? Seriously?). Or maybe she's just a little sick of all that Bad Blood buzz. (Because if there's anyone who knows about blockbuster music videos, it's Bey.)

Whatever the reason, Beyoncé skipped the star-studded Billboard Music Awards Sunday night, attending Jay Z's TIDAL-sponsored concert in NYC instead.

Instead of spending the night in a ballgown, Bey wore a red sequined Bulls jersey to watch her husband play a set of rare B-sides at the private show, which gave away tickets to TIDAL users.

She hung out in a private section with her cousin Angie, dancing, taking selfies and sipping (what we're guessing is) D'Usse from a huge snifter all evening.

TIDAL's still going through some growing pains, but this weekend's #TIDALXJAYZ showed the streaming service delivering on its promise of interesting exclusive content — and the tickets were free.

And while Bey skipped this year's BBMA festivities, her unbelievable performance of Run The World (Girls) at the 2011 show gives her a free pass for the next decade.
