Josh Brolin shows off new fiancee Kathryn Boyd to the world in Cannes

The happiest guy in the South of France right now is probably Josh Brolin. The 47-year-old actor is starring in the Cannes Film Festival competition film Sicario, which received a boisterous ovation on Tuesday night and rave reviews.

Brolin is also spending time at the glamorous film festival with his new fianceeKathryn Boyd, a model and his former personal assistant.

News broke Monday that the twice-married Brolin was engaged to Boyd. The next day the two were walking down the red carpet together for Sicario in Cannes.

Brolin plays a hard-nosed agent in the gnarly world of drug trafficking in the film, also starring Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro. He even gives Blunt a black eye during one screen tussle.

But he was all kinds of goofy in love with his new fiancee both at the gala screening and at an afterparty on the beach.

Not a bad start.

Meanwhile, Brolin will be bringing the buzz in September when the action-drama Sicario opens.

"It's nice to hear the applause again," Brolin told reporters before going into the afterparty.
