Why would anyone dare mess with the goddess J.Lo?

We're still trying to figure out what possessed a creepy, green-faced clown named Richie the Barber to confetti-bomb Jennifer Lopez at LAX.

Oh yeah -- 15 seconds of fame. He bragged about the prank on his Instagram account, touting his move an "E! News exclusive." Sigh.

J.Lo seemed only slightly miffed as she brushed the confetti out of her newly weave-less hair, but we know what she was really thinking: EWWWW -- HOW ANNOYING.

We wish we could have been there to warn her that she was about to have a run-in with a literal clown.
