Apparently, Luke Bryan is the coolest act in the world to open for
If that jogger in the parking lot before the Luke Bryan concert looks like Bryan, it very well might be him.
Dustin Lynch, who's opening shows on Bryan's Kick the Dust Up Tour this summer, along with Randy Houser, says that's just the sort of thing the country superstar's likely to do.
Lynch says Bryan will jog through a parking lot of tailgaters before a show or hop in the van with the guys to go shoot hoops at the local YMCA — "just ridiculous stuff that he shouldn't be doing. But he doesn’t care."
Bryan says he's careful not to let a tour become a monotonous routine. "So, yeah, going and shooting some ball or going fishing, going to the best cheeseburger in town or the best draft beer in town, stuff like that's fun," Bryan told Paste BN backstage at Wednesday's CMT Music Awards, where he won male video of the year for Play It Again.
One night, Bryan even rented a paintball park and took his entire tour crew. "It's nice when you get to shoot people that work for you."
Bryan says the only thing he doesn't like about being on the road is that it takes him away from his family, including his sons, Bo and Tate. "Other than that, I'm doing everything I love."
Lynch says Bryan has taught him a lot about touring. Plus, "his bus door's always open. We can go hang out anytime."
