Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart shared a red-carpet smooch

Sirs Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are the best BFF pair in the industry. They starred as rivals in blockbuster franchises (X-Men), appeared together in absurdist Broadway plays (Waiting for Godot/No Man's Land), and McKellen even officiated Stewart's 2013 wedding to Sunny Ozell.

So when McKellen's new play Mr. Holmes premiered in London on Wednesday, Stewart and Ozell were obviously there to support their friend. And the two friends even shared a playful red-carpet kiss — with a sly photobomb from Ozell.

With "enemies" like this, who needs friends?
