Colbert skewers Trump's presidential speech (and combover)

After a long few Stephen-less months, can we just take a second and appreciate how great it is to be watching new Colbert material?

Colbert's been taking it easy as the soon-to-be Late Show host, posting just a few goofy videos about his Colbeard and his show's new theme song. But the 2016 presidential race is starting to get weirder and weirder, and like a bee to honey, Colbert apparently can't stay away.

After Donald Trump's presidential announcement Tuesday, Colbert was inspired to make his own announcement: that, yes, he will still be hosting the Late Show on CBS.

And naturally, his announcement was a spot-on, seemingly improvised Trump impression that nailed everything from his shouty voice to that infamous hazmat zone of a combover.

If Stephen plans to spend his pre-Late Show summer vacation by dropping delightful videos skewering the day's events, that's just fine with us.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert premiers on Sept. 8.
