Here's what we know about Selena Gomez's new single
Selena Gomez is back, kids.
Well, it's not like she ever really left. We've been inundated with her relationship "news" and minor controversies for the past year, although Selena has kept it relatively low-profile: staying mostly out of the spotlight and only releasing two new songs ( and Zedd's ).
But on Monday, she's set to release the first single from her forthcoming album. It's called Good for You and here's what we know about it:
It's a sexy slow jam.
The song already leaked online this weekend and sounds much more like Heart than, say, . Backed by hazy production and slow percussion, Selena seduces a lover on the chorus, cooing:
"Gonna wear that dress you like, skintight / Do my hair up real, real nice / And syncopate my skin to your heart beating. / 'Cause I just wanna look good for you, good for you."
For the tune, she reportedly collaborated with songwriting team Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, and recruited co-producers Hit-Boy and Rock Mafia. Given their resumes include Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato, Kanye West and Miley Cyrus, respectively, Selena truly assembled an A-list team for this one.
A$AP Rocky is featured.
As Selena revealed via this leggy cover art on Instagram. Sure, the rapper might seem like an odd pairing for the pop star, but let's not forget his fire verses on Sam Smith's
.
The music video is coming soon.
And features Selena rocking a white tee and ripped jeans. Although, that wooden floor doesn't look too comfy, TBH.
Taylor Swift loves it.
The pop princesses are longtime BFFs, so of course Tay had to get fans that much more excited with a supportive tweet:
But is it really better than The Heart Wants What it Wants? After all,
of that heartbreaker moved Swifty to tears at the AMAs last fall.
Guess we'll know once the fans weigh in on Monday.
