John Oliver explains why the Internet is a downright terrible place for women

Being a woman online is dangerous. That's not a new thing. Online harassment of women is a huge and widespread problem that we don't talk about enough. But John Oliver, the Internet's king of bringing up important things we don't talk about, is changing that.

The comedian took on online harassment and revenge porn in his latest long-form segment on Last Week Tonight, outlining the horrible things that  "any woman who makes the mistake of having a thought in her mind, and then vocalizing it online" has to go through. But because it's John Oliver, he is able to do this AND spoof a 90s AOL ad with help from Colin Hanks.

And if this whole thing seems over blown to you, well, to quote Oliver, "congratulations on your white penis — because if you have one of those, you probably have a very different experience of the Internet."
