Ryan Reynolds held his daughter 'wrong' and worried parents freaked out
Celebs' Father's Day Instagrams were a mix of cute father-daughter pics and nostalgic throwback posts.
But what started as an innocent Blake Lively snap of her husband Ryan Reynolds and their daughter James turned into a mess, as worried commenters pointed out that Reynolds wasn't using his baby carrier correctly.
And Blake learned an important social media lesson: never anger the militant "babywearing" parents of Instagram:
Even experts weighed in on Carrier-gate, with Babywearing Institute president Beate Frome explaining to Yahoo, that James' position is “totally against the way this carrier is designed."
"Her legs should be spread apart 90 degrees and 100 degrees up," Frome said. "Having the legs together is essentially like having baby on a cradle board, which can lead to hip dysplasia. In a straight-leg position like this, the hip is essentially pushed out of the socket.”
That sounds serious!
But one commenter had a better theory for Reynolds' unconventional carrier use — privacy.
