'SNL' cut Chris Pratt's amazing Jason Statham sketch

We have some words for Saturday Night Live.

Last September, Chris Pratt hosted SNL's Season 40 premiere. And for some reason not known to man (or probably just because they ran out of time), the episode captured comedy gold — Pratt playing Jason Statham — and cut it from the final show.

The skit is a commercial for Statham's new line of flat steaks, called — wait for it! — "Jason Steakums. " And Pratt nails the action star's constant grimacing and heavy accent.

Moral of the story: if you take one actor the internet loves, and have him impersonate another actor the internet loves, it's probably going to be funny. But what did SNL run instead of the skit during Pratt's episode? Duds like "Animal Hospital," where "three nurses at a vet hospital cheerfully greet pet owners and tell them that their animals are dead."
