Russell Wilson: I'm staying abstinent with Ciara
Russell Wilson just went from 0 (refusing to comment on his relationship with Ciara) to 100 (telling the world about their sex life — or lack thereof) real quick.
In an hour-long conversation with pastor Miles McPherson this weekend, Wilson opened up about his faith and relationship, revealing that he and Ciara are practicing abstinence in accordance with their faith.
He first discussed how they'd both been burned before in past relationships; Ciara endured a very public split with ex-fiance Future, while Wilson divorced his wife of two years, Ashton Meem, in 2014.
Then, Wilson described a divine moment that inspired him to take this step in their relationship. "She was on tour, she was traveling, and I was looking at her in the mirror," he said. "God spoke to me and said, 'I need you to lead her' and I was like 'Really? Right now?' He goes, 'No, I want you and need you to lead her.'"
Apparently, he asked Ciara, "What would you do if we took all that extra stuff off the table and just did it Jesus' way?" And by "Jesus' way," Wilson confirmed that yes, he was "talking about sex."
Unsurprisingly, Wilson has struggled with the mandate at times. "I ain't gonna lie to y'all now, I need y'all to pray for us," he said. "'Cause I know y'all seen her on the screen now. If there's a 10, she's a 15."

If Wilson and Ciara are both on board with this plan, all respect to them — if that's what makes them stronger as a couple, nobody has any right to judge.
But we have to wonder how Ciara, who's owned and flaunted her sensuality in her music throughout her career, who's given the world some of the sexiest jams ever, feels about the arrangement.
We'll venture a guess that this perfect R&B track, which she wrote about her last man, was not a song borne of abstinence.
