Chris Columbus wants to direct more 'Harry Potter' movies about life AFTER saving the world

The director of the first two Harry Potter movies isn't into this whole prequel business. Instead, Chris Columbus, who most recently directed Adam Sandler's Pixels, wants to do another Harry Potter sequel. But get this -- it's about Harry's married life.

OK, so not just that in particular. Columbus told Entertainment Weekly radio that he's interested in making movies based on Harry's life between saving the world from Voldemort and the epilogue that takes place 19 years later.
“I would love to go back and do another one. Not Fantastic Beasts as much, which I think is going to be amazing, but I would love to do another movie with those three characters — Harry, Hermione, and Ron. I’m just fascinated about what happened to them after the end of the last movie, because then they cut to 18 years ahead. There’s 18 years there of great Harry Potter stories.”
Other than the fact that he probably meant 19 years, it would probably wouldn't be the most interesting story since, you know, nothing happens (although maybe we'd get a peek at Ginny's reaction to Harry choosing those godawful names for their kids). But Columbus is adamant that some sort of story is there, telling io9:
“There has to be a great story in Harry’s life at that point. Hopefully (J.K. Rowling) will maybe think about doing that. Even if I wouldn’t make a movie, I’d still like to read those stories.”
Good luck roping J.K. Rowling into your idea Chris -- Rowling's dislike of the idea of Harry Potter sequels is famously the reason she wrote the epilogue in the first place. Maybe Columbus can wrangle a part in the Rowling-approved Cursed Child.
