Listen to Sam Smith and Disclosure's monster new single, 'Omen'

It took American audiences nearly two years to get hip to Latch, the 2012 song from British beatmakers Disclosure featuring a then-up-and-coming soul singer named Sam Smith. Eventually, the song crossed the pond in 2014, Disclosure's popularity blew up and its pretty-voiced featured singer won a whole bunch of Grammys.

Life is quite different for Disclosure and Smith this time around, but as their new single Omen suggests, they haven't let fame make them lazy. Omen cools down Latch's frenetic pace for a funky, end-of-summer slow-burner about supernatural love.

We've had a few Smith-less months as the singer has recovered from vocal surgery — which will come to an end as soon as Omen hits your local radio station.

But as much as we enjoy Sam Smith on Omen's built-to-sing-along-with chorus, we can't help but hear traces of Ariana Grande in that melody. Anyone else hoping for a cover?
