Decades ago, Jon Stewart and Louis C.K. were both young comics working the stage at the Comedy Cellar in New York City. Fast forward decades, and Stewart is now signing off from a wildly successful run as host of the historic Daily Show and C.K., a famous comic with his own critically beloved show, joined him as the last guest before Thursday night's farewell episode.
'"I came on behalf of comedy — representing all comedy — just to say, 'Good job,'" C.K. joked, before revealing that Stewart was one of the first comics he ever saw in New York City at the comedy club.
The pair talked plans for the future, and while there's no talk of Stewart nabbing a permanent guest role on Louie as one of C.K.'s crotchety old comic friends (seriously, how great would that be?), we'd be surprised if the two friends' careers don't cross paths soon.
