A-list ballerina Misty Copeland's new 'Essence' magazine cover is so on pointe

Misty Copeland is pretty much all things to us, so when we saw her hittin' that pointe on the September issue of Essence magazine, we were mesmerized.

And, we're not alone. Even she's in awe of her history-making success, she tells the mag:
“I never knew it was going to get to this level. There are a lot of times when I wish it wasn’t so much. But I wanted this type of exposure for the dance community. I wanted it to be an opportunity for me to educate people and get them to become ballet fans and to educate them on what it means to be a black dancer -- a black ballet dancer."


Oh, and some of Misty's Twitter fans were also thrilled about the glam-letic shot. (Yes, we just made that word up. Deal with it.)
