Zac Efron just officially put us on #baewatch with his 'Baywatch' baby oil news

Zac Efron is officially joining The Rock for the Baywatch movie, which the two announced via Twitter on Monday.

The Rock made a call for baby oil...

...which Efron seconded.

The original series aired from 1989 to 2001 and centered around lifeguards making everyday rescues in Los Angeles. And stars like David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, and David Charvet made those red bathing suits famous.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the movie, The Rock will play a super serious lifeguard who is forced to team with a less focused guard (played by Efron) when an oil tycoon threatens to destroy their beach.

Uh-oh! Looks like these actors are going to have to work on that slow motion run.
