That's a lesson that NBA star Matt Barnes is learning after he fanned the fire of some gossip that he and Rihanna were seeing each other. In a TMZ video, Barnes said that he and Rihanna were, "just past the crush stage":

That would be fine if he and Rihanna were actually just past the crush stage. Or past any stage. But they're not. At all. And Rihanna put those rumors to rest with one simple Instagram post:

That's a perfectly reasonable response to someone spreading false information about you. So how did Barnes react? With a kind of petulant comment on the post (matt_barnes9 is his verified Instagram account):
