'We Are Your Friends' L.A. premiere: Zac Efron's DJ skills have, um, faded

To prep for his role as a DJ in We Are Your Friends, Zac Efron took music-mixing lessons from Jason Stewart, aka DJ Them Jeans. It got to a point where Efron could not only look like he was performing at parties, but he could also actually deejay.

But it's been a while.

At the Hollywood premiere for We Are Your Friends, Them Jeans said he wasn't totally confident that his student, Efron, could perform at the premiere after-party by himself.
"Right when we finished the movie, he was able to do it. I would go deejay and he would sneak in and he would play a few songs when it was fresh on the brain. But it’s been a few years... (maybe he could) if I was there with him."
Efron, who talked on the red carpet, agrees: He could not man the turntables alone right now. In fact, he knows he can't, because he recently made a failed deejay attempt.
"I tried the other night. (Them Jeans) invited me onstage, and I went up there to transition one track, and I hit the wrong fader, and the music went Byeeeemp," he made the sound of music going quiet.
Instead of Efron, Michael Woods wound up performed at the party at Avalon:
