At least Zac Efron's adorable grandparents checked out his box office bomb 'We Are Your Friends'

When you make a movie like We Are Your Friends it helps  to have really excellent family. Just ask star Zac Efron.

The Warner Bros pic died a painful box office death over the weekend. Friends took in $1.8 million, a shockingly low  number for a major studio release and for a Zac Efron movie. It was it was trounced by critics and pundits.

The movie industry website Variety said it was worst wide-release launch of the High School Musical star’s career and one of the lowest wide-release debuts for a major studio film in history.

But you know who was first in line to see the R-rated film opening night? Efron's grandparents, jacket in hand.

So sweet. Especially since the film is about a San Fernando Valley EDM DJ trying to make it in the big time.
Seeing it was a love effort worthy of the props Efron gave them on Twitter:

"Shout out to Grandma and grandpa. First ones in line, opening night. Love you."
