Colin Farrell quit smoking by writing a breakup letter and setting it on fire

Well, that's one way to quit smoking.

Colin Farrell, perhaps channeling some aspect of his True Detective character, told Men's Health about how he quit smoking. And it wasn't quite as simple as buying the patch at CVS:
"I wrote a breakup letter to the Spirit of Tobacco. I got a frying pan and tossed the letter with a load of tobacco, put some paraffin over it, and lit a match that sent a big, wallowing cloud up into the sky. Then I didn’t have a cigarette for another two years.”
Whatever works for you, bro. (Although apparently he's smoking again.)

We would not, however, recommend this method for trying to quit drinking.
