Celebrity Book Club: Back-to-school edition
It's time to hit the books. And what better source for some suggested reading than celebrities? We at EntertainThis! love celebs and we love books. But when we combine the two and have celebs recommend a good book we burst with pure, unadulterated joy! You're so very welcome.
Oprah: 'The Leader'
Our fearless leader offers "gripping novels you need to read before summer ends" on her website. Several of the featured picks are Paste BN best sellers. Included arePrimates of Park Avenue, Circling the Sun, The Marriage of Opposites, Palace of Treason andA Window Opens.
Reese Witherspoon: 'The 'Pop'-Fiction Fan'
It appears Reese has taken a break from fiction to read #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso, the founder, CEO and creative director of Nasty Gal. Amoruso shares her path to success. While not fiction, it doesn't surprise us Reese would recommend a business memoir by another strong woman. Reese is, after all, not just an actress and producer but founder of online retailer Draper James.
Lena Dunham: 'The Realist"
The actress and all-around our kind of girl recommends Amy Falls Down by Jincy Willett for her Lenny readers. According Dunham's entry on Lenny's Facebook page, "I am just starting "Amy Falls Down" by Jincy Willett, whose satisfyingly (sic) sick sense of humor and pathos made her novel "The Writing Class" an all-time favorite. Amy is the anti-hero queen, just like her creator." Lena also has her first short story featured in Lenny's first fiction issue.

James Franco: 'The Academic'
Franco shared his latest pic on Instagram, Paulina & Fran: A Novel, by Rachel B. Glaser. According to Amazon, the book is a "story of friendship, art, sex, and curly hair: an audaciously witty debut tracing the pas de deux of lust and love between two young, uncertain, conflicted art students." According to James it is "Fuuuuuuunny!"
Emma Roberts: 'The Alt/Indie '(L)it' Girl'

This Scream Queen never disappoints when it comes to her picks. The voracious reader is currently reading The Last Love Song by Tracy Daugherty, a biography on writer Joan Didion. A fountain of fiction and non-fiction when it comes to recommendations, Roberts also posted her 'End of Summer' reading list of The Best Things to Do in Los Angeles, Happiness, Into the Valley and Clothes, Clothes, Clothes. Music, Music, Music. Boys, Boys, Boys.
Newbies Anika Noni Rose and Sarah Jessica Parker
Okay ladies, we get it. Anika recommended Shadowshaper earlier in the summer. But since the last book club, we have not heard a peep. You are amazing women, so please, tell us, read any good books lately?
Possible inductees:
Anderson Cooper and Alanis Morissette
Anderson Cooper leaves reality and his 24-hour news cycle world behind and delves into some deep fiction with A Little Life, by Hanya Yanagirhara. So far, so good says the newsman. We can't wait to hear how it went.
Alanis, on the other hand, is all about reality, improving one's actual reality. Her latest reading list includes You are the One You've Been Waiting For, Buddah's Brain and The Heroine's Journey, to list only a few.
