How on earth did Miss Georgia win Miss America after THAT interview response?!?!

The best part of any pageant has got to be the interview portion of the evening, where the contestants are put on the spot and asked their opinion on a current event topic.

Dreaded for the contestants, but highly entertaining for the rest of us.

So when Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell bombed her response at last night's Miss America competition, we were pretty sure she wasn't going to win. The question was about Tom Brady and his DeflateGate scandal and did she think he cheated:

Umm, there's no way, right? Not with that answer. How could she possibly win? Not to mention she said she "couldn't hear" the question, and the judge repeated it for her, essentially giving her more time to come up with a suitable response.

And even SHE thought her answer wasn't good: "I can't believe it," she said after the show. "I thought I blew my on-stage question. I didn't know what he asked me!"

But alas, today she wears the crown.

To be fair, we thought she had the best talent performance. So there's that.
