Surprise! Video for Sam Smith's Bond theme is super dark and sad

That seems to be the question being pondered in the video for Smith's Writing's on the Wall, aka the official theme from the upcoming Bond flick Spectre. It turns out putting the often-sombre Smith in a music video with the always-somber Craig is a recipe for darkness and misery, but hey at least the music's good!

All jokes aside the video gives us a peak into the tone of the movie, which does not look to happy. There's more shadowy Christoph Waltz, there's Craig getting up close and personal with Monica Belluci, there are shadowy cabins and shadowy mountains, there's Lea Seydoux looking angry AF, there are classic Craig glowers and classic Smith glowers and there is also literal writing on a wall. Basically it's everything we've ever wanted in a Bond film AND a Sam Smith video and we're only sort of exaggerating.
