Sherlock battles an 'Abominable Bride' in new Victorian-era trailer

Sherlock has a history of ruining weddings, but it looks like the Victorian era Sherlock Holmes will take his wedding-crashing prowess to a whole new level.

The newest trailer for the Sherlock Christmas Special, now titled "The Abominable Bride," gives a closer look at our favorite British detective in all his deerstalker-wearing glory. Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, played by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman respectively, are dealing with a pretty pissed off bride (who looks a bit deathly herself) while Watson is dealing with Sherlock's usual brusque manner.

"The Abominable Bride" premieres Friday, Jan. 1 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS, with an encore airing set for Jan. 10 at 10 p.m.
