'Indiana Jones' producer: We're 'not doing the Bond thing'
Remember when there were those rumors that Chris Pratt might step into Indiana Jones' fedora and whip?
Well we all need to calm down about that.
Veteran Indiana Jones producer Frank Marshall, who has produced all four Indy flicks, told Total Film that there are no plans, as of now, to have someone other than Harrison Ford take on the iconic role in a future movie.
Here's what he told the magazine, via The Hollywood Reporter:
"There are a lot of rumors. We haven't even sat down to talk about Indy yet. ... At some point, we'll sit down. But there's a bunch of people who could probably take the baton."
But when he's talking about a "baton," he doesn't mean the role of Indiana Jones himself. He added:
"(We're) not doing the Bond thing where we're going to call somebody else Indiana Jones. ... We have to figure this out."
So whether that means Ford will be back again, someone will take on the adventure without taking on the Indy name or something else entirely, we have no idea. In fact this is so early in the process for a potential movie that we have to take everything Marshall said with a grain of salt, considering how many things could change between now and a potential movie.
