'Supergirl' Benoist awkwardly laughs off Bush's 'hot' comment

GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush was trying his darndest to garner up some geek cred by naming his favorite superheroes -- and ended up mostly commenting on how the new Supergirl, played by Melissa Benoist, is "pretty hot."

Naturally, this comment made enough waves that Supergirl star Benoist would hear about it and be asked to react to the flattering-but-mostly-creepy comment from the presidential candidate.

On CBS This Morning, Benoist was gamely promoting the new show, which aired Monday night at 8:30 p.m. ET, when one of the hosts asked her what she thought of Bush's comments (the question starts at 3:21):

Benoist awkwardly laughed off the comment before saying, "I heard about it, but I don't know what to think about it... I'm glad he's excited to watch the show."

Same, girl.
