Colbert challenges Trump to donate $1 million

Welcome to The Late Show —or perhaps you're more familiar with its alternate title, The 'What's Amusing Stephen About Donald Trump Today?' Show.

On Wednesday evening's show, it was Trump on the TODAY show, giving Matt Lauer his "started from the bottom" spiel.

But unlike Drake, whose "bottom" involved filming Degrassi, sitting in traffic in his uncle's borrowed car and just generally existing in Canada—or Stephen himself, who had a humble upbringing in South Carolina — Trump's come-up involved a "small loan" of a million bucks his father loaned him to jump-start his livelihood (of amassing even more millions).

So to challenge Trump's claim that the $1 million "wasn't very much," Colbert wrote a million-dollar check from Trump to the charity of his choice, the Harlem Children's Zone. Make sure to check out the classic memo line.

Even if Trump never swings by the Late Show to sign the check, many viewers did learn about a new charity worth paying attention to, aimed at providing kids in Central Harlem "the individualized support they need to get to and through college and become productive, self-sustaining adults.
