Adele and One Direction kill it at the 'X Factor' finals

What happens when you combine Adele, One Direction and the British version of American Idol? Very adorable things, it turns out.

During the finale of the popular British show the two British musical acts both stopped to perform and say Hello (get it?) and it was all so British and so cute.

Adele, as you might expect, slayed a performance of Hello that ended with a hearty helping of giggles.

In an interview with host Oly Murs after the performance, she explained why she was so stoked to be there:

 “I’ve honestly been waiting, like, half my life to do this. I’m so excited to be here . . . I wanted to burst out laughing the whole time. I did at the end.”

Her advice for contestants on the show?

“Good luck! I haven’t got the nerve to stand up — I could never do that again, I don’t think. I couldn’t even look (the judges) in the eye.”

One Direction, who owe their existence/success to the show, also stopped by to perform History and Infinity (fitting, dudes). And, not disappoint you, Harry Styles was wearing another suit that looks like a bedspread.

The fact that a montage of photos from the band's five years together only added to the whole graduation feeling of the performance, especially since the band is taking a break for awhile. But it's not goodbye, it's just see you later. Right guys? RIGHT!?!?

Oh well, that leaves more room for Adele in 2016, anyways.
