Showtime unveils first 'Twin Peaks' teaser

All it takes is that iconic theme song and Twin Peaks sign to get us excited for the series' return on Showtime.

A just-released teaser doesn't reveal much more than that, other than some scenic shots of mountains and foggy forests backed by mysterious narration.

Still, it's enough to keep fans intrigued, as the series reboot picks up Agent Dale Cooper's trail twenty-five years later. Series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost are writing and producing the series, and after some back-and-forth with the network earlier this year, Lynch officially signed on to direct.

As far as when the new series premieres? "Coming soon," sometime in 2017.
