OMG! 'The Simpsons' totally predicted the new 'Star Wars' in 2009

A new Star Wars movie sounds like a sure thing now, but back in 2009 -- three years before Force Awakens was even a thought in J.J. Abrams' head -- The Simpsons predicted it.

The animated show has made a habit of eerily accurate predictions, and this one was no exception. And yeah, we know you're thinking, "Oh, what's the big deal, even I knew they'd make another Star Wars eventually." Well, check out the image below:

That's right, in a 2009 episode titled Homer The Whopper,The Simpsons totally called that Star Wars would be going up against Alvin and the Chipmunks at the box office (and completely annihilate it, at that), which you probably forgot was a movie that came out this weekend.

They were a little off with the titles -- Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip is nowhere close to Rabies, but Force Awakens might as well have been The Apology -- but you get the gist.

That is some scary accuracy, Simpsons.
