5 funniest Twitter beefs of 2015
2015 was a glorious year for social media shade and, at times, outright dragging. Let's reminisce on some of the funniest moments, shall we?
5. E.L. James vs. Everybody
Back in June, Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James opted to participate in an admittedly ill-advised Q&A session on Twitter. While her PR team prayed that none of her critics — including members of the BDSM community — would notice, the virtual event quickly devolved into a conversation on her series' inaccurate portrayal of BDSM relationships and the perceived romanticization of abuse.

4. Calvin Harris vs. Zayn Malik
Taylor Swift isn’t the only one with bad blood. Back in August, her DJ-producer boyfriend, Calvin Harris, misinterpreted a retweet from former One Directioner, Zayn Malik. The tweet in question invoked the industry’s royalty debate and featured a composite image of Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. Swift's quote defended her decision to take her music off Spotify while Cyrus's quote essentially shrugged off the discussion: "I've made my money."
Harris tweeted this response, which One Direction's Louis Tomlinson (the other half of the late Zouis), favorited: “You've made your money? Cool… (bleep) the 99 percent of musicians who depend on these services to survive right? yeah (bleep) ‘em."
Malik's reply? Keep calm.
Harris's? My bad.

3. Amber Rose vs. The Kardashians
Back in February, Amber Rose went on The Breakfast Club and expressed her disapproval of Kylie Jenner and Tyga’s relationship. Khloé Kardashian didn't take kindly to the interview and clapped back by shaming Amber for stripping.
“'I was a stripper since I was 15 years old,' Amber Rose told Foxx,” Kardashian wrote on Twitter, referencing a portion of Rose's interview.
“Please don’t worry about my sister who has a career and her (bleep) together at ONLY 17," she continued. "People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”
Rose swiftly responded, going for the jugular.
"I'm happy u brought up the fact that I was a stripper at 15," she wrote. “I’ll be that lil (bleep) to support my family like ur older sister is a (bleep) 2 support hers. We’re even. #MuvaGivesFacts.”
#DontPanic: Amber Rose won that one.
2. Taylor Swift vs. Nicki Minaj
It all started when Nicki Minaj tweeted about being snubbed following MTV's 2015 VMA nominations. In a series of tweets, the Only rapper discussed how black artists are overlooked for the same things white artists are celebrated for, and how curvier bodies are censured while slim bodies are celebrated as the ideal.
Swift thought Minaj was talking about her and hopped in her mentions, but quickly apologized for misspeaking.
Now, that is what we call a humbling moment, but the megastars patched things up quickly so they’re both winners.
1. Drake vs. Meek Mill
This “beef” has been so closely followed that there’s no need to thoroughly rehash. Long story short: Meek was hurt that Drake didn’t tweet his album, Meek then claimed that Drake used ghostwriters and a bunch of rappers had thoughts — but none of that matters because Drake ultimately slew Meek, dropping Charged Up and Back To Back and effectively invoking amnesia of Meek’s Wanna Know.
