Watch Seth Meyers' perfect 'Making a Murderer' tribute
It was a matter of time before everybody's new true-crime obsession Making a Murderer became fodder for late-night shows. Let's hope they all pay the chilling Netflix series justice like Seth Meyers does — with wry humor and a spot-on Manitowoc accent.
For the host's first show back from his holiday break, Meyers opened with "Making a Talk Show Host," a pitch-perfect tribute that mirrors one of the original series' favorite narrative devices: a collect phone call from prison (or, in this case, "a staff member at 30 Rockefeller Center") featuring subtitles, generic b-roll and very, very heavy Wisconsin accents.
And sure, it's not returning to prison for a second time, but Meyers is left to grapple with his own return to Late Night. "What time's the show on again? God, that's late."
