Watch over 500 people gather to sing David Bowie's 'Space Oddity'
"I just feel like an era has ended with his passing. I'm so very sad ... The stardust is gone."
In the wake of David Bowie's death, those were the solemn words his first wife, Angie, managed to muster. We crumpled under the weight of those words because, in that moment, sorrow told us that they were true. But, as this heartwarming tribute to Space Oddity shows, Bowie actually left a little stardust behind... in his fans.
This performance, which has recently gone viral, was the result of a partnership between the Art Gallery of Ontario and Choir! Choir! Choir!, an open choir in Toronto. The musical group organized the event after the rock legend's death, recording the show on Jan. 16 and sharing it on YouTube the following day with the message, "RIP Starman: to say we'll miss you doesn't even scratch the surface."
