Chris Martin hitches a ride for Carpool Karaoke
James Corden had himself a pretty good day Tuesday. He was named the host of this year's Tonys and for his Carpool Karaoke segment, he picked up the Super Bowl halftime act.
Only instead of ringing someone to ride along and qualify him for the HOV lanes, he stumbled across a hitch-hiking Chris Martin.
When the two Brits weren't trying to figure out the rules of American football, raiding Kwik-E-Marts for candy ("American Rolos!") and NFL team ski hats or pondering Martin's Super Bowl stage banter, they sampled the Coldplay songbook, including Adventure of a Lifetime, Hymn for the Weekend andYellow.
Along the way, Martin revealed the secret to doing a perfect Mick Jagger impression. His Springsteen ain't half bad, either. Oh, and they spooned in a cheap motel room while wearing striped night caps.
But as far as we're concerned, this edition of Carpool Karaoke peaked when Martin reached into the back seat to get his keyboard and the boys launched into a duet of David Bowie's Heroes.
